We dropped into Tweeds head river retreat campground. Usual lickety split set up and we were off for a 10k walk into town . When we got there there was a Rock On festival which is a blend of suped up roadsters and 50s rock and roll. We forced ourselves to have a drink and a little jive music .
Following Tweeds Heads we headed to Upper Coomera and the Secura Lifetsyle caravan park which is in the shadow of gold coasts water parks. The location was very handy not for the parks but it proximity to Tom and Lilly friends of some 18 years. As per usual it was a very quiet affair with a couple of sherries and no shenanigans at all. Its still a highlight visiting Tom and Lillys to ride their golf cart from their house to the pub and back .
And of course if you venture anywhere near here you have got to make a B line to the Yatala Pie shop . This is no mere pie shop .An icon of pastrified meaty goodness with a drive through bay you could could get a Winnebago in . A great opportunity to try our the onboard 12v pie heater too !
With livers recovering from a couple of days of catching up and us both reminiscing about the amazing beef curry Tom created the night before we headed north to Noosaville. We stayed at the van park in Trewantin. We used the little ferry a couple of times to nip across to the north shore , drive the beaches , run the dog and feed the crabs lots of fish bait . Kate drove down to Mooroolaba to catch up with best buddy Heather who was in town .
